Student Loan Debt Problems Affect Military Members

Many service members are experiencing rising student loan debts and some unnecessarily. A recent study shows that service members are often taking on more debt than is needed due to a lack of information. This problem in communication stems from lack of awareness of education/loan benefits given to service members, as well as misinformation given from educational institutions. Not only can this cause a service member to pay tens of thousands of dollars that should have been forgiven, but it could also affect their security clearance. Fortunately, the military has become aware of this problem and has promised to offer more training and information on student loan debt.
