Navy to Double the Frequency of Ship Inspections

The Navy is making sure that its ships are ready to deploy by upping the frequency and changing the system of ship inspections. The new procedures will include changing the frequency of inspections from once every five years to twice and using a new scale in which a ship can rank from 1-100. Ship inspections take anywhere from months to years to prepare for with extra hours being worked and already-approved leaves being cancelled. Overall, the new system will help the Navy’s Board of Inspection and Surveys evaluate all aspects and systems of the sheep and deem its sea-worthiness. Read the full article here:
