Newly-Released Governor’s Budget Includes Additional CalVet Funding

California’s governor has approved an increase in CalVet funding for the 2013-14 fiscal year. The budget includes funds to open two new veterans’ homes in Redding and Fresno, in addition to money for salaries of the staff for the homes which are expected to open by the end of the year. It also includes money to cover the annual licensing fees for the standard case management software. Additional funds have been proposed to add two staff members at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery and the Yountville Veterans Home Cemetery to help service the memorials of the men and women laid there.
