Fix It Yourself and Save

Drywall damage or crack is usually on a seam where two drywall sheets meet. The most common cause is warped wood that was inadequately dry when installed, or abuse from furniture. Although the drywall is rarely in danger of falling off the wall, the bumps are visible and unsightly. But whether it deals with plain simple crack or a large hole, it is easy, inexpensive to fix, and you can fix it yourself. What you need is a spackle, a putty knife, a fan or hair dryer, fine-grit sandpaper, interior-latex primer, a small paintbrush or roller, and paint.
