Before You Move

After spending much time and effort trying to find the perfect home, you are most likely ready to move in as soon as possible. Before you take the first step into your new humble abode, there are a few changes you should make first. Some of these changes you should make before moving in will not only make your home more secure, but will also improve the overall look of your home. One thing that most people don’t think of before moving into their new home is to change the locks. Although the owners are required to turn in all of their keys at the time of closing, sometimes they have extra keys floating around with family members or neighbors. This creates an unsafe home for your family because unknown people may have access to your home. Changing the locks to the house will ensure your security. If you plan on redoing the flooring at some point, you may want to do that before you move in as well. This will save you the time and effort of moving your furniture around multiple times. It will also prevent you from putting off a project that you want to do to improve the look and feel of your home because it would be too much of an effort to move everything out again. Finallyt, be sure to double check for minor changes that may need to be done such as cleaning HVAC filters, maintaining pest control, cleaning and relining the kitchen cabinets, and making sure all of the outlets are working.
